History

Dash has been playing drums since he was a toddler, inspired by his grandfather, longtime Lansing musician, saxophonist, singer & DJ, Rick Hughes.

When Dash was 9, Rick passed away, and Dash was determined to be the next to continue the Hughes music legacy. Dash was the first person to sign up for lessons at School of Rock East Lansing, and he’s been performing with the School of Rock House Band ever since.

At age 11, Dash started playing full gigs with Blake James and has since filled in as drummer with various bands, including Full House, Cooper Johnson, and Kanin Wren.

Dash's current bands and projects:

- Dash is the main drummer for the Rory Nevins Band (outlaw country and southern rock) and currently plays around the state of Michigan.
- Dash started his own band, Almost Stellar, with other talented teenagers from the School of Rock East Lansing, playing rock and grunge covers primarily from the '90s and 2000s.
- Backup drummer for Michigan based touring artist, Kanin Wren (pop / country)
- Freelance drummer regularly filling in with country and rock bands.

Dash also continues to take lessons and perform with School of Rock East Lansing as well as lessons with his drum mentor, Caleb Robinson.
